💡 Growing tips

Ammi is a close relative of the carrot, so treat it similarly. To improve germination, chill the seed packet in the freezer for one week before sowing. Direct-sow into its final spot once frosts have passed, or start indoors 4–6 weeks before planting out. Earlier sowings will set seed the same year. Ammi also responds well to late-autumn sowing — winter provides its own stratification, and you'll have stronger, earlier plants the following spring.

✂️ For cutting

Cut when about one-third of the florets in the umbel have opened — this is when stems last longest in the vase. A classic filler flower that pairs beautifully with zinnias, dahlias, and cosmos in summer bouquets.
